Privacy Policy
Last updated August 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Tutorlot (“Tutorlot”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use our online tutoring workspace at tutorlot.com (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We keep data collection to what the Service needs to work:
- Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider. If you sign in with an email link, we store your email address.
- Lesson information. Lesson titles, schedules and any student email address you enter so we can send a reminder.
- Whiteboard content. Drawings, text and files (such as PDFs) you add to a lesson board are stored so they can sync between the people in that lesson.
- Guests and students. Students can join a lesson from a link without creating an account. We store a temporary display name for the session so others can see who is present.
- Technical data. Standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and request times) used to keep the Service secure and reliable.
- Cookies. A single sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. If we enable analytics, an analytics cookie may also be set (see below).
What we do not collect
Lesson video and audio are peer-to-peer (WebRTC) between the participants. We do not record, listen to or store the audio or video of your calls.
How we use information
- To provide the Service and sync whiteboards between participants.
- To send lesson reminders and sign-in links you request.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service:
- Googlefor optional sign-in (subject to Google’s own privacy policy).
- Email delivery to send reminders and sign-in links.
- Hosting for the servers that run the Service.
- Analytics (if enabled). We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage. This is disabled unless a measurement ID is configured.
Data retention
We keep account and lesson data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated lessons at any time by contacting us. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and reliability.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us at support@tutorlot.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
Children
Tutorlot is designed to be used by tutors and their students, and some students may be minors. Where a student is a minor, the lesson should be arranged and supervised by a parent, guardian or tutor who is responsible for that student’s participation. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and lesson video runs directly between participants. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
